I know nothing of the history, bought car three years ago
from Forza in Ct.
I don't know much about earlier work. Engine appears to have
been rebuilt well.
My e-mail is Setarch@aol.com
31,000 miles when purchased, 33,000 now
US Model - AM120US1178
Yes,
euro bumpers front and rear, euro headers, euro carb jetting.
Car had rear end damage at some point, and whoever owned it
converted rear to euro bumpers when repair was made. I did
front bumper and headers (original from Bill McGrath) and
engine work. |

Hydraulics continue to be a minor problem, especially the headlight
circuit. Trying to see Dave Burnham, but his first commitments go
to Citroen owners. Car bottoms out easily, but I have installed
aluminum skid plates under front exhaust. Biggest mystery is the
fumes in the cockpit thing. Lots of differing opinions, fuel pressure
set too high, cracks in rear hatch-floor intersection, loose seal
at air intake under hood, gaps in exhaust etc etc. I've tried everything
including new interior where all joints were sealed, adjusting fuel
pressure, new exhaust etc.,nothing changed. Wife won't ride in car
(is this bad?)
Nothing specific on special experiences. Stopped at a Ford dealer
today to look at new Freestyles, entire dealership dumped themselves
into the parking lot gaping at the Khamsin. People go nuts over
this car, as they should.
I am still looking for the little plastic covers for the floor mounted
hydraulic rocker switches for the seats.
Lastly, I collect miniature cars (2600 models). Replicars has re-issued
the Khamsin and it is beautiful (Met. Green, Brown (Luci Del Bosco)
and Silver). Try "Toys For Collectors", appx.$200 for
1/43, but worth it. Also, Fabbri Editori in Italy is doing a series
of Maseratis like their Ferrari series, and the Khamsin is in the
pipeline. Early Ebay far east sales have been nuts, over $100 USD,
Wait, and they will be available from Italian dealers for $20. euros.
Any ideas on the exhaust?
Registry idea is terrific. How can I help?
