It should be noted that as a consequence of Peugeot’s purchase of Citroen and its assets, which included Maserati and Peugeot’s subsequent decision to shut down the Modenese factory, it sat closed from May 1975 onwards for a number of months with some cars partially assembled. This explains why there were no 1976 US models and why there are so many 1977 Khamsin’s; quite a few of these were in fact started in early 1975.
